Hi Sizzlers,

I’m writing to say thank you for having me in your inbox over the last 18 months. I hope you’ve all enjoyed reading my obsessions, takes, and the occasional broken link — OK, more than occasional, but I did get better — as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Thinking back to one of my first editions, I wrote about the big tech CEOs being front and centre at Donald Trump’s second inauguration. This moment really set the tone for my time at the helm. It’s been a pleasure to try to make sense of everything going on and understand what it means to us, down under.

For most of you, Anthony needs no introduction. For everyone else, he built the Sizzle up over a decade into the favourite part of so many people’s days. He loves tech, he is a tinkerer and he suffers no fools when it comes to people making bad products or doing shitty things. 

When he handed over the Sizzle, Anthony made it clear how much it mattered to him. Not by voicing some expectation about how it should be run but through his generosity and thoughtfulness as he helped me get up and running. His ongoing interest in the Sizzle wasn’t an ego thing. Anthony really just felt a deep responsibility to Sizzle subscribers. 

There’s no better person to hand the Sizzle back to than Anthony. As for me — I’ll be hanging around the Sizzle Slack and Discord and, of course, reading every day.
